Add width and height attributes to this tag, first off.
Also try setting the height attribute of the <td> that holds logo25.gif.

Just a few wild guesses, hth.

Mav,

What gap are you talking about?  I have tried the code with IE 4.7 and NN4.5 with no gaps anywhere, if the layout is wrong then you can play with the positioning on the <td> contents.  Tell me more about the layout you want if you need help.

Bruno, the reason you can't post the code is because there is a character the server doesn't recognize.  I found it after my initial attempt... can you?  Here is a hint... &#149

Actually you replace the bullet with the acsii character code.

Just to follow up with my original posted answer; here is the entire code;
If you want a space between table cells, just change the 'cellspacing' to whatever space you want, I have it set to 0.  You also need to keep the <form> tag inside the <tr> tag, certain browsers will have a problem reading the form code.  I see where you say there is a space you don't want, this is easily fixed by setting the width of the <td>.

mgranz... thanks for your help but brunobears code seemed to work...  As I said before ... its a finiky problem.. which doesn't seem to have a simple answer... sorry..

I tried adjusting the <TD width> .... didn't do any good....
The GAP is between the company logo .,,, and the mailing list part.,...

the code brunobear submitted seemed to work OK.....

I guess you didn't read my comments Mav... you are going to have a problem with the <form> tag outside of the <td> tag on certain versions of browsers.  You MUST move the <form> tag inside of the <td> tag.

Unless you don't care about multi-browser capabilities...

Oh, and go right ahead and use non-acsii characters in your code...

dick.

mgfranz,

No need to get nasty.  We are all here trying to help.  All i was concerned with was getting rid of the gap that Mav had mentioned.  I'm sure your suggestions will be taken to heart.

Maverick,

Just in case you were wondering what got rid of the space...

here is your original code...

<IMG SRC="project30c.jpg">
<TABLE BORDER=0 CELLSPACING=1 CELLPADDING=0 WIDTH="700" >

all i did was delete the line break between the code for the image and the start of the table.  When there is a break like that, the browser tends to actually put a couple of pixels of space there.

<IMG SRC="project30c.jpg" width="700" height="10"><TABLE BORDER=0 CELLSPACING=1 CELLPADDING=0 WIDTH="700">

Thanks, and Good Luck!

If Mav had put the project30c.jpg inside the table as proper, he would have never had posted the question to begin with...  As my original answer stated.

I appologize for the harshness, it just bugs me to see answers blown off so hastily.

Your on my list Mav.

This may sound funny.... bruobears code seemed to work.. but the multi-browser part.... thats the problem.... my HTML editor essentially uses Internet Explorer 3 for the internal rowser
This is the code I eventually used.... thanks.... I'll be damned if I know why it works.. but its something to do with the form part...
FYI if I knew the multibrowser part before I accepted it... I wouldn't have... when my points build up alittle I'll assign 150 to you too....

what editor are you using?
0
mgfranzCommented:
So lets see... you moved the project30c.jpg inside the table, this is good.  you removed the offending non-ascii bullets which is good also.  But you still have the form outside the <tr> tag, this is bad.

A tip from HTML-101: Always write pages for multiple browsers.  Not all people have and use IE4.0. (On my sites, it's about 60/35/5 IE, NN, Other)

As far as points go, forget about it, you made your bed, now lay in it.

ok I'll change the <TR> part....

theres a few CGI scripts to determine the browser type,,, But since I use 1-4-all as my HTML editor (viewer is IE3.1 Compatible) and my primary browser is Netscape 4.07 .... usually I'm pretty safe... Except this time (Grin!)
