outlook attachments

Every time I try to append an attachment to an outlook e-mail message, I get an error message "access denied". Why? How do I fix this?

Hi robertla,

What version of Outlook are you using?

What is the OS of the computer you are using?

How long have you had the problem? Since you first started using the computer and Outlook? Since you last installed something? Since you came back from vacation?

Do you get the same error no matter what attachment you try with?

1. Came with Office 97.
2. Windows 98 2nd edition - bought disk from MicroSoft.
3. Problem started only about 2 weeks ago. Have downloaded Realplayer, WinGlobe and Worldtime. Have removed Truesync (for Rex PDM). Have inactivated eSafeProtect (which didnt allow downloading of my email messages from ATT page to Outlook Inbox). Haven't been on vacation.
4. I get the same answer no matter what attachment I try.

Thanks & regards

I think I would try uninstalling eSafeProtedt rather than just disabling it.

If that does not work, then I would uninstall Outlook and re-install Outlook.

I have never heard of Truesync, but if it had any sort of email functionality (like 'send to' ) then just running the install routine for Outlook may also fix the problem.

I removed eSafeProtect from my hard drive and this solved the problem. Thanks for the suggestion.

You are very welcome :)

I will repost that as the answer so that you can award the points.
