Can Notes offer Organizer & LDAP support without Mail Server

I would like to support a common address book for Organizer and/or LDAP server for use with Netscape. All of my address data is already in NOTES format (from NOTES mail client for OS/2).  I don't really need a mail server but, if it is needed for the other functions, is there a way to set the accounts to point to external email accounts (I.E. user has email account located on AOL... etc.).

Sorry for the newbie questions, I'm getting involved with notes via Linux and am kind of feeling my way in the dark.

Thanks, Stu

Hi Stu,

you say you have already a names.nsf database.

Ok. so you want to set internet email address for some or all users...

Do it.

You can select the mail system for each person in the people view separatly. For internet email address you set in person document itto field "Mail system:" to:
"Other Internet Mail"

So you get for this person a field with the title:
"Internet address:"

Here you can put persons email address...

When you now start your LDAP task, you should be able to fetch this email addresses.

Sorry, this responce was a long time in coming (Y2K stuff at the office).  Thank you this does work, and in the meanwhile I found some documentation that answers my other question regarding the Organizer Schedule (Now lets see when I'll have the time to test it).
