Using InstallShield express 2.02
I've created a setup that seems to damage or overwrite some or other windows file on 98. This prevents Explorer from starting up after the machine is re-booted. Has anyone had a similar problem or know what I should check for.

I had this sort of problem when deploying my application to a NT4/95 machine. Two times i got messed up.
in 95, it didn't start the explorer like urs and on NT it refuse to show the popup menus if you right click ur mouse on a file, icon etc..etc.. basicaly had to reinstall. And the problem was with the ole automation files. Then i downloaded the file
VBRUN60.exe from microsoft[these distributables comes in VB installatoin CD i guess] and i ran it in silent mode through my setup. then the problems were over for both 95 and NT.

VBRUN60.exe is only if you have developed your applicatoin in VB6. From inside your installsheild you can run  the vbrun60.exe in silent mode by giving the parameter /r:n /q:u

Hope this gives you a start.
