How do you change the monitor display(1024x768)

Hi there.
My monitor is a gateway vivitron 17 and I set it up to be able to get 1024 x 768. It is currently 800x600 and I wish to change it to 1024 x 768. Is there any place in GNOME or KDE to do this?

Thanks,

Ron

You should be able to change your display resolution by hitting the three keys, 'control' 'alt' 'numeric keypad +' at the same time. To make 1024x768 permanent, you'll need to edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config file. Under the "Monitor" section, change the first modeline to the one you use for 1024x768. If you still have problems, please leave a comment. Thanks.
