User ID problem

I upgraded a user from R4.5 to R5.01. After the upgrade, he was able to access everything he used to except for two databases. It keeps saying, "You are not authorized to access that database."  I checked in the ACL of those two databases and his name is in both of them with the proper access rights.  I tried to copy his user ID which is stored on the server onto his c:\Notes\Data directory.  After doing this, he can now access the two databases that he wasn't able to before but he cannot access his mail anymore.
Any ideas on what I should do?

Hi,

Why dont you try and recertify the person with the certifier id on the server ?

Test this and get back.

Hi Arun,
I already tried that and still didn't work.
Hi,

Did you remove the acl from the db and re add it ?

Yes, did that too.  I noticed that in the two databases, the "Technology" group is the one that has access to the two databases and his name is in the group.  I even tried adding his name as an individual and it still doesn't work.  Is there anyway I can create a new one and delete the other ID files?  I afraid that it would affect all his access though. =\
Hi,
This problem may be due to Public address book also. Cut and paste back the persons documents of the users mentioned above and rebuild the view index. In R5 such problems arise.

Hi Raj,
That sounds great to try.  Can you help me out on how to do that?  I'm not sure what you mean by person documents and rebuilding the view index.
Thanks a lot,
Zerline
Hi rajen !

I thought over this initially.  But,
I guess that too wont work since the public key is going to remain the same even if you move it to someother new db.

Good Luck zdima !

:)
Arun
Hi zdima

try to compact that two databases.

Hi Hemanth,
What would compacting the two databases do?  They are being shared by many people in the company.  Would doing that affect their access?
Zerline
No !

It wont affect access to the databases.  You can try that.
