Outlook 2000, backing up settings & folders?

How can I back up my settings, inbox, outbox and other folders without doing the import export thing. I just want to copy them to my cd burner for backup and import export is a pain. I can't find them, all I find is my old outlook express files.I have software I can set to back any file of folder at anytime but I can't find them to tag them. Help

Go to the following page:

http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/downloadCatalog/dldoutlook.htm

Look for Microsoft Outlook 2000 Personal Folders Backup.

Download this file. This will allow you to backup your personal folder files.  I don't think it will backup your settings.  You tell it where to put the file and what to call it.

The problem, I believe, is that if you circumvent the export process you may be unable to use the data (mbx files, etc).  I use Outlook 2000 and OE5 and frequently find a need to export/import for varying reasons, quick and painless to import/export between the two apps.  You may find an alternative and that your files will be on CD but unusable.  If it were the contact list, I'd consider moving to Access as a database element; but with mail folders... well, unclear about the cost of your desired alternative.
