Deleting items in listview control

I use the following code to delete items in a listview control.

Private Sub cmdDelete_Click()

If lsvChoices.ListItems.Count <> 0 Then

If lsvChoices.SelectedItem.Index <> 0 Then

MsgBox lsvChoices.SelectedItem.Index
lsvChoices.ListItems.Remove lsvChoices.SelectedItem.Index

End If

End If

End Sub

This works if I select an item and click the Delete button. The problem is if nothing is selected and I click the button, one of the items is deleted. How do I fix this?

Private Sub DeleteListViewItem_Click()
'a listview always has a selected item...it's 1 by default
'so give the user a chance to escape the delete function

sItem = MsgBox("Do you really want to delete listview index #?" & ListView1.SelectedItem.Index, vbYesNo)
If sItem = vbYes Then
ListView1.ListItems.Remove ListView1.SelectedItem.Index

Else

End If

End Sub
