LOST COM PORTS

While playing around with the terminal for my modem, you know giving all sorts of "at" commands I some how have lost my com port 1.Since then I have formatted my drive and reloaded the factory supplied settings and where my modem use to be on com 2 it is now on com1.Also I have an Iomega zip drive which is an external parrallel port one, but after reinstalling it I find in device manager it is listed as using a scsi interface!!
oh yes, the com port in the device manager says it is disabled in the hardware. Any way after all that what happened to com2?
If someone could have a stab at this it would be much appreciated and if I haven't enough points I'll buy ya a beer!!(when I see ya,)

Remove all ports and ZIP drive, restart and let Windows dectect them. If Windows doesn't detect, do it manually :
Control Panel - Add new hardware - choose "No, I want to..." - choose PORTS and then ... ;-) You'll know how to continue
