Mac Classic II Modem

I have a friend who has a Mac Classic II.  She wants to hook up a modem to it.  I believe it has a modem port (I haven't actually seen her machine), but, I don't know what kinds of modems can be plugged in.  I'm a PC person these days, so, I don't know what to tell her.

What is the modem port?  RS-422 (i.e., standard parallel)?   Can I plug in my old USR 14.4k external modem somehow, or, does she need something special.

In theory, hooking a modem to this machine is as 'easy' as connecting it to any Mac...

This machine has two 8-pin apple serial ports, and with the correct (mac-to-modem) cable can be connected to any standard PC modem.

You should purchase the said cable from any Mac vendor and use it to connect the serial port with a small telephone-like symbol to your USR modem.

After that it's just a matter of configuring the machine using the 'modem control panel', and your away...
