"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Unless your distribution comes with the SSL library and Apache with SSl, you'll have to do it the hard way.

Download the following sources:

OpenSSL:        www.openssl.org
Latest Apache:  www.apache.org
Either mod_ssl or apache_ssl patches:
   www.modssl.org      (feature rich)
   www.apache-ssl.org  (I prefer this more)

1. Compile the OpenSSL library
2. Apply the SSL patch to Apache
3. Compile apache
4. Configure apache in the usual way
