I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try 'xterm -fn 7X13' for medium size
font or 'xterm -fn 9X15' for large.

If you want this to be the default for the whole system and you have permission, I think you can also modify the file:
/usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/XTerm

at least on some Unix systems
