Kernel Parameters Configuration

I have Red Hat Linux v 6.1. I want to increase the Shared memory parameter (SHMMAX) and re-build the kernel in order to boot with the new OS parameters. Can anybody help me please ? Thanks in advance
1 Solution
Have you tried to issue
'echo _new_value_ > /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax' in /etc/rc.d/boot.local?

If This won't work for You, edit /usr/src/linux/include/linux/sysctl.h, then recompile the kernel...

or You could ask on the kernel mailinglist, the address is linux-kernel@vger.rutgers.edu
