CD-ROM quit

My CR-ROM drive worked great, now it says to check the cables, etc., on bootup.
Ant ideas to make it work again?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Open up your box and check that the ribbon/data cable to your CD-ROM is still properly secured as well as the power cable to the drive.

If these are fine then check in your BIOS that all your drive are set to AUTO besides the one for your actual hard drive which should have specific settings already. This way it should auto detect the CD-ROM and install the appropriate drivers.

Let me know what happens.
