Windows 95 setup

I have reformated one of our computers and have placed the startup disk and windows 95 cd in the proper drives.  At the A prompt I have typed "setup" along with a number of other tries, but I can't get it to read the cd and reinstall the windows program.  Walk me through this please

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You MUST have a CDROM device driver in the CONFIG.SYS file on your boot floppy.  You must also have MSCDEX in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.  Check these and make sure that they are present.  If not, you will need to get them from another system.

WIth these files present, your CDROM will probably show up as drive D: is your hard drive has a partition on it or drive C: if not. As MSCDEX executes, you should see it tell you which drive letter is associated with the CDROM.  Once you are booted to the A: prompt and the CDROM is available, CD to either C: or D: (depending on which drive letter is the CDROM drive) and type SETUP there.
