Narrowed the problem down to crpe32.dll (Crystal report engine) not releasing the ODBC connection - was able to do that mainly due to your fresh input on the subject. it's out of my hands now.
Crystal vs Quickreports: a q i ask myself many a time.
For me it depends on the project, for this one I need on demand subreports that can execute SP's on the server, Crystal does that nicely.

I hope you get things to work.
I recently have been having many problems with quick reports, but have somehow managed to get past all of them. I like the fact that crystal exports beforeprint and afterprint events directly linked to your delphi source code.. it allows a fair amount of power.. but my good ness it takes long to figure out workarounds for things that should theoretically work by setting properties...
