NT buggers modems up

Iam trying to fix a problem using laplink 2000 call back feauture, basically i need the modem to start up with a s10 value of >100

Iam using a 56K 3Com USR internal modem.
Ive set this using
atS10=100
at&w&w1 - writes to both NVRAMS

then doing a atz0 (reset to power up setting) the s10 reg equals 100

The above works in windows 95, BUT in NT the S10 reg after a cold boot is reset to the factory setting - 14. If I logon and type atz0. It then gets changed to 100.

help, is there a way of initialising the modem with out a user signing on and after the machine is cold booted in NT.

Maybe you could run a login script to perform this at each login...
Configure the "extra settings" within the modem-setup to send 'S10=100' to the modem.

NT will first send 'AT&F' to the modem,
to reset to "factory" settings,
and then NT will send 'S10=100',
to customize to your settings.
Then, NT will send 'ATDTxxx-xxxx'.

Hold on. You're using laplink 2000?? This is an NT app right? It does have an option to send *IT'S* very own *INIT STRINGS* if yes... then set it to ATZ0 and under extra settings in the modem setup, put ATZ0 too...
