How do I get rid of a "Older File Version" error?

Whenever I put on Madeline's European Vacation I get a System File Error notice: "The following system files have been replaced with older versions by a program you recently ran.  These files are currently in use and cannot be automatically repaired.  Windows may not run correctly until you exit and restart Windows so that these files can be automatically repaired:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDEML.DLL"
When I close the window all runs fine.  When I restart the computer, the same error pops up, I click OK, Norton Antivirus says it cannot load, I click OK on that and then the same system error file returns again.   I click OK and then all runs fine.
HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS ANNOYING SYSTEM FILE ERROR MESSAGE? Where can I find the correct newer version of this file?
