DirectX 7 Installation Problem
Hey everybody,
I've been trying to install DX7, but the installer is failing with a peculiar error. I opened c:\windows\directx.log to see what was going on with the installer, and it said the following:
10/16/99 19:05:18: Installation Started with language eng
10/16/99 19:05:18: DirectXSetupIsJapanese == 0
10/16/99 19:05:18: DirectXSetupIsJapanNec == 0
10/16/99 19:05:18: ERROR: Unknown OS
10/16/99 19:05:18: SetupForDirectX: Restoring Backups
10/16/99 19:05:19: Installation ended with value -1 = Unsupported window version
10/16/99 19:31:31: DXSetup - CommandLine: /packageinstall
And it pops up with a message saying that I'm not running a supported version of Windows!
However, I am running Windows 95 OSR2 with the USB supplement installed.
DirectX 6.1 is already installed on the machine and runs without problems.
