Quicktime - RH6.1, Gnome, Netscape 4.7

I would like to know how to set up my system to view Quicktime movies.  I need to be able to view them from the files and from streaming media as well.  Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you can't.  apple only licenses quicktime for use on windows and mac.  no commercial code can be used by linux developers, so all that exists is a library for developing applications.  it consists of only a few of the compression methods and formats actually used in quicktime, which forces it to be useless for viewing quicktime files from the internet.

however, you can buy the quicktime server from apple, which will run on linux, but it won't suit your needs.
