I don't know of any books or websites on the subject, but I could tell you the basic way to do it. You setup sendmail to send messages(Sendmail does not need smtp sever,and can also recive I belive) then you have a web site with apache for login and sending email. You use cgi script to send recive ctc. All this would be a big job to setup, and you will need a pretty good computer to hanlde all this.

Sorry, I want to have some practical instructions. I also know to use sendmail and apache (email and web system). But, what else? How to dynamically set up a new email account? And so on..?

I'd actually advise that you cheat instead. For my web site I use the free email setup at <a href="http://www.everyone.net" rel="ugc">www.everyone.net</a>&nbsp;which means that people can sign up for free email @atari.cx . I used to use <a href="http://www.bigmailbox.com" rel="ugc">www.bigmailbox.com</a>&nbsp;but didn't like them too much.<br />
However, check 'em out for a quick and easy way to sort it.
