Outlook login

We use  a Nt Server with Exchange 5.5.
Is it possible that the user who is logged in automatically have access to his mailbox without select profile .

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

But of course.

If the user is the only user of the machine then simply turn off the "prompt for profile" option within Outlook. (Tools >> Options >> Mail Services) and make sure the desired profile is used by default.

If there are multiple users for the machine simply create a shortcut and use a command line option to specify the profile to be used. The target should be the path of Outlook.exe followed by "/profile <profile name>" (i.e. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" /profile "postmaster")

Note: for this command line option to work the profile name must be only one word.

Good luck,

It works. But how can I make this with NT logon scripts.I think its better.
I wish you had been more specific I would not have wasted your/my time. I do not know how (or if it is possible) to do this with an NT login script.

Your question is not very clear but i think I know what you mean. You want the user upon logging into the nt server to have outlook open to there mailbox without them having to press any buttons. Create a shortcut in c:windows\startmenu\programs\startup
to outlook.  If you have to choose what profile outlook opens to you can create the shortcut to the spefic profile by right clicking - new - shortcut:  The path is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" /profile "profilename" if you do not have to choose a short cut to outlook.exe is fine.
If this does not answer your question then can you please restate your question more speficly.

Hope this helps

I mean if a user login on a workstation and he start outlook then his mailbox is open. That must work by every user, who logged in.
Use Nt's roaming profiles. Create in C. Panel\mail & fax's applet a profile called Exchange settings (for exemp.) for the first user, then each user, that logs on will get his/her own mailbox. You don'nt need NT-scripts.
