Promise Ultra 66 problems

I am using Slackware 7.0 and I can't seem to gain access to any of the drives attached to my Promise Ultra 66 card.  I have heard that the newest kernel both does and does not support Ultra 66 so I am a bit confused on what to do.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I had the same problem and some guy aka "duy" sold me that
tip. He has the same card you do and tells me it works
fine with that patch.

That patch is not working for my Gateway.  When is someone going to come up with an installation that supports Ultra 66?  Many, many machines (newer) use this card.
