"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What's the mail environment? If it's Exchange Server, you can do it with a server side script running against the Inbox folder of the mailbox where the mail is coming in. If it's Outlook 2000, you do it in VBA with code running in the ThisOutlookSession module (or in a COM add-in) to monitor the Inbox folder for new items. In Outlook 97/98/2000, another possibility is to write your program in whatever language you prefer, then use ExLife from to run your program, passing the message ID.
