Applications running at Start Up

Each time I boot up, two applications are always running.  They are MSgloop &
MSg32.  When I end task, the windows appears saying that they programs have stopped running or not responding, etc.  I can then end task.  I don't know why these programs are running.  I would like some help in stopping them from running when I start up.  Thanks

Frizzy,
Go to the Start-run, type [msconfig ] in the open box, type OK. The system configuration Utility will be open. Go to the Startup Tab, search for any line related to the captioned programs’ startup shortcut. Uncheck the boxes on the left hand side of the line.
Restart the computer.

Let me know if you have any queries.    Pslh

I have tried that, no programs appear related. I'll check again. This is a tough one.  I've talked to many people, techs and it appears nobody really knows why or what this applications are related to.  I've been told that the MSGloog means message loop, but no further info.  Any help would be appriciated.  Thanks

Frizzy, Please post your Startup tasks in the msconfig for me to study. What's your system, a dual boot system or a single Win98 (or Win98SE)? What kind of third parties softwares that have been installed?     pslh

Frizzy, there are some suspects. Let's do it in stepwise to pick it out.

Go to msconfig-StartUp, Uncheck the boxes for:-

[ ] HP Lamp
[ ] StillImageMonitor

Go to the Start-programs-startup folder, Drag the "Adobe Gamma Loader exe" shortcut to the folder of Photoshop.

Restart the computer.

If that error messages appearred or not?      pslh

OK, tried your suggestions.  The Msgloop & Msg32 are still running.
What's next?
Thanks,

Frizzy, you may inspect this program <Fax Quick Link> -options/preferences etc, it may load some TSR program during startup.

I did, the fax program is not causing the programs to run.  What I think is that we have to understand what Msgloop & Msg32 are so they can be correctly associated with an application.  I knew this is a tough one, so far nobody seems to know what they are or how to stop them from running, short of "ending task" each time I boot.  I'm ready for more suggestions.

Thanks, Frizzy

Frizzy, if you go to start-programs-startup, drag all shortcuts to the program folders that they belong to. Now, startup folder should be emptied.

Is the error message still there during reboot?

FrizzyAuthor Commented:
Thanks,  but my startup is empty.  I don't have anything in startup.  I like to boot up with nothing but the minimum running.  I have 94% resources at startup. oh well, back to the drawing board.  By the way, thanks much for your continuing help.
