I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

no, in diagnostics you click on the com port and click on more info.

Big deal, it's just symantics.

BTW adjdelta, try running MSD.EXE (if you have it on your PC.)
This will show you just about everything, including the mouse.

I think everyone got my question mixed up. I don't want to use the proposed methodlogy. If i am to rephrase my question, "How can I check the state of my modem including settings from a VB program?" I do not want to use any facility already on computer. Most programms connects you to a modem. that is not what i want. i want to see the status. In simple what is the hard code for Windows >Settings>Control Panel>Modem>Diagnostics>More Infor mation.. This is what I am looking for
Thanks for the effort.
