I am using Sendmail 8.8.7 under Redhat Linux.  Can any body tell me how to redirect mails from one account to another (Put forward) under Linux server.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In sendmail, you can edit a file in the home directory
named ".forward".  This textfile contains the address(es) the incoming email is forwarded to.
Simple as that.

Use aliases:

in /etc/aliases
# Fortward  to -> this address:

john:         bob

(this will forward emails from john to bob;s account.

you will have to restart the sendmail though.
