PPP Server Set UP

I would like to set up a PPP server, but I guess I am a little confused about the overall picture of the process.  I need to see if anyone has ever set up a PPP server and could give me some hints on how the process works and how I should start implementing it.

Thanks

First get a modem and connect to ur box .. check with which port u r connecting to..(ttyS0/ttyS1 ..etc ..) ..
get mgetty+sendfax rpm and install it by
rpm -ivh <mgetty package>
edit the
/etc/mgetty+sendfax/mgetty.config file
for ur choice .. u can recieve data/fax
at the same time ..
now get the ppp package .. if u have already installed it then fine ..
login as root and do
chmod +s /usr/sbin/pppd
now edit the /etc/ppp/ip-up and /etc/ppp/ip-down files for ur system .. like what will be the ip no u want to give the user who connects to ..
also create an file options.ttySx in /etc/ppp file .. where x is the no. of ur serial port ..

and add an user in the /etc/passwd file .. giving the shell as /usr/sbin/pppd ..
simple ennough ..

Do you mean you want to set up a dial-in server for ppp access? You should then try the software called mgetty.
