I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, ootips.org it is. And I'm afraid I can't find Allan Clarke anyware anymore - too bad, it was a really nice site.

To start OOD, I join nietod's recommendation to get a book. I recommend Martin Fowler's "UML Distilled". It's a short and clear intro to OOD and UML. I also like Robert Martin's "Designing Object Oriented C++ Applications Using UML" - it contains a lot of real code and takes you through the process of design, including changing it once you get a better understanding of the problem.

Also, you may like Arthur Riel's "Object-Oriented Design Heuristics". You can find their thumbnails at http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~timm/pub/subjects/oois96/rules.html
