new Image() in other frame

Anybody know what the wrong is?
Or how to make it work?

------THIS WORKS:-------
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!--
bilden ='lila.jpg'
function eye(color){
bilden = new Image(247,20);
bilden.src=color+'.jpg';
document.faceeyes.src=bilden.src;
return;
}
 -->
</SCRIPT>

------BUT IN THE SAME SYSTEM NOT THIS:-----
parent.text.faceeyes.src=bilden.src;
------OR THIS:-----
top.text.faceeyes.src=bilden.src;
------OR THIS:-----
top.frames[1].images[1].src=bilden.src;

(in a frame system that the framename is text and the picturename is faceeyes)

------THE REST IS THIS-------
..............
<map name="theMap">
                  <area shape="polygon" coords="533, 82, 594, 82, 594, 57, 548, 43, 533, 82"
href="search.html" onMouseOver="eye('green')">
</map>

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think the document part is required as well... Try:
top.text.document.faceeyes.src = bilden.src
