Start windows 98 as a microsoft network client

Every time I start my computer, It starts the session as windows user even if I set up the network on control panel to start the session as a microsoft network client. So every time I start the computer, I have to close the current session so it can start as a ms network client, asking for my name and password.
How can I fix that?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I just went thru this myself.
You need to make sure the following registry key exists, and if it doesn't, then add it.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Network\Real Mode Net\AutoLogon=1

That did it for me on 2 machines.

Click on Control Panel
then goto into Passwords and then click on the User Profiles tab and select the first option then reboot and it will be OK.  If it appears just click Cancel and then reboot again and then it will be fine.
