Change your &quot;primary network&quot; to &quot;Windows Logon&quot; in the network applet of control panel. Then logon without a password and all will be well thereafter.

I have a P2-400 w/ Win 98.<br />
just recently I started getting a dialog box about halfway through the bootup process asking me for my user name and password. I want to get rid of it. It says that if I do't put one in, it won't ask again, but next bootup, there it is again. I've tried everything I could on my own, but no luck. I also use a cable modem. (If that would have anything to do w/ it)<br />
