What to look for CD-RW?

I am in the process of shopping for a CD burner for my PC.  What should I look for?  I don't have SCSI or USB.  I would like an internal drive.  What are good features to look for and more specifically what can I expect to see as far as support from Linux?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Firstly, you have to see whether you need it solely for burning cds or both for reading and writing. I would recommend one which has a 4x write speed and a 24x read speed. Besides that, make sure it is bundled ith a good software which you can use for recording.
