Registry Functions

I want to retrieve a Registry value from the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
I am basically a RPG programmer and not very good at Visual Basic.
So it would be very nice if somebody could provide the answer with a small example.(Like read some value from Microsoft folder inside the Software folder in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.)

I remember RPG fondly. Like yourself, I started as an RPG programmer and then continued on into GUI development, currently working in VB.
