Delphi 2 to 5 ??

I'm using Delphi 2 since 4 years (...and i'm still not an expert...) and I bought Delphi 5 Pro.  My problem comes when I want to import my project from D2 to D5: this project uses lot of components not included in both D2 and D5, so I have difficulties to install these components because D5 find errors that D2 has not.  I know that some components are compiled for a specific version of Delphi, but what happen if I need this compiled component in D5?  These components come in majority from the net, so they are not always available for D5.

Thanks,
Elbaid.

if you dont have the compponent source file then there is nothing you can do except remove this component from the d2 project in d2 then open in d5.
otherwise if you do have the source you will be ok as you can probably fix most errors.
you should probably only use components that come with source as this save this sort of problem happening.
most components for d4 will work with either none or only minor adjustment to source in d5.if you are having a real nightmare tyring to get any specific components to work you  could go somewhere like www.torry.ru or www.delphipages.com etc  and you will most probably find a similar component for d5.
