DUN ISDN and default gateway

How can you specify a gateway other than the default when using an ISDN adapter through DUN.  In DUN there is only a checkbox to use the default gateway.  We have NT server 4 sp4 with an USR Sportser ISDN 128k adapter.  Our new ISP does not dynamically push a default gateway setting to us but we do have the IP address for the gateway.

I think you misunderstand the function of the "Use Default Gateway" in the RAS system.  (BTW, it's RAS on NT and DUN on Win9X).  When this box is checked it is NOT to have the remote system set the default gateway for the RAS connection but rather to tell your NT system to route ALL network traffic that is not destined for the local subnet of your network adapter through the RAS connection.  Since the RAS connection is a PPP (point-to-point protocol) connection there is no gateway setting needed.  The interface _IS_ the gateway.

My ISP install support team tells me that I need to setup the gateway at a certian address.  How would I go about doing that and if the interface is the gateway why would they tell me that I need to set the gateway to a specific IP?

Well, if they know so much, ask them to tell you how to set it.

Talked to install support turns out it was a misconfiguration at the ISP not to mention the other tech was assuming I was using a router vs the dail up ISDN adapter.  BTW, yes it is RAS that you configure however you do have a Dail-up Networking icon in My Computer not a RAS icon and that is where you configure your entry properties including the checkbox for Use default gateway.
