Illegal Operation

I have a PII/450mhz, 128 RAM, MIE 5.0.  Win98-2d ed.

I frequently get an error message as follows: IEXPLORE  This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.  IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in module CLIE.DLL at 018f:0104fd4f.

Can you explain what this is and what I can do to prevent.  Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

the illegal operations are when the cpu writes information to a memory block that has some info from another app in it, and that process won't work, hence the illegal op.
keep your temporary files cleaned out, run the scandisk /defrag often and if you leavre the computer on 24 hours per day, reboot periodically to clear the memory.
