Mailing Labels

How do I create mailing labels (for Christmas Cards) using my Lotus Notes 4.5 Personal Address Book?  I want to place check marks next to the appropriate names and print only their name, company, address on the mailing labels.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Only way I know is to use a Third party product, export to Lotus 123 or create your own form and create a print report button on a view.

I would be interested if there is another way also.

As been said, the best way to accomplish this is through 3rd party tools.  Many tools exist, to give credit, I found them here:

I strongly favor IntelliPrint, its a good product, and it was rumoured that Lotus is thinking of bundling it with Notes.
If you want to be adventurous, you can try using Notes with MS Word mail merge capabilities, it will require scripting.

It can be done with-in Lotus Notes, using Script.  My company has a Label Maker that is for sale, and it is 100% Lotus notes.  Here is the address: http://www.bigdconsulting.com/label_maker.html

Hope this helps,

Hi,
I have the solution for your problem.I have done successfully by exporting data from Notes to MS Word. Please follow the Instructions:-
1)Create an action button in the contact view of your Notes Address book(local db) and write the below script in it and do the necessary field changes
2)before this you have to create a form by name labelprinting with the fields in a table by name  Untitled1,Untitled2,Untitled3....and so on according to your requirement. each unique field stores each persons name and their address. and also create an action button in the labelprinting form and write the formula for FileExport to the MS Word.
3)once the data is exported to msword, open the msword file and from the Tool menu try to print the label printing.
4)Script:
Sub Click(Source As Button)
  Dim session As New NotesSession
  Dim db As NotesDatabase
  Dim ws as new notesuiworkspace
  Dim uidoc as notesuidocument
  Dim collection As NotesDocumentCollection
  Dim doc As NotesDocument
  Set db = session.CurrentDatabase
  Set collection = db.UnprocessedDocuments
  Set uidoc=ws.composedocument("","","labelprinting")

  For i = 1 To collection.Count
    Set doc = collection.GetNthDocument( i )
               contname=doc.FirstName(0)+doc.LastName(0)
            compname=doc.companyname(0)
            address=doc.Homeaddress(0)
            contzip=doc.zip(0)
            xyz=Evaluate({@newline})
            fieldname="Untitled"+Cstr(j)
            compname=compname+";"
            address=address+";"
            contname=contname+";"
            Call uidoc.fieldappendtext(fieldname,contname)
            Call uidoc.fieldappendtext(fieldname,xyz(0))
            Call uidoc.fieldappendtext(fieldname,compname)
            Call uidoc.fieldappendtext(fieldname,xyz(0))
            Call uidoc.fieldappendtext(fieldname,address)
            Call uidoc.fieldappendtext(fieldname,xyz(0))
            Call uidoc.fieldappendtext(fieldname,contzip+" ")
            Call uidoc.refresh
  Next
End Sub

If you have any doubts please feel free to ask .
Good Luck,
Sanjay.
