Are there any web sites that teaches or gives us a step by step guide on how to make DIY computers?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, there is.
Check out PC Mechanic at
http://www.pcmech.com/index.cfm
and click on Build PC link at the top left.

This site has a few graphics to help you.

This site has tons of information on various components and, well, check it out!

The most difficult part of building your own pc is setting up the motherboard for your CPU.  If you set it wrong, you can fry both of them, and, well, you don't want to do that.

If you do decide to build one, read the manual that comes with the mobo, and double check, triple check, quadruple check the settings before powering it up!  I can't stress it enough.

Read through these sites, take notes, post questions, and when you feel ready, go for it! There's nothing like building your own system!

And for future reference, check out
http://www.overclockin.com
to learn the next step!

Good luck.
