Microsoft Word

I am using windows 3.1. I backed up MS Word because I had to
format my disk. When I restored it I no longer have speel check Is there any way I can some how get it back in the program?
Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try running the setup cd for word again...not all the files that relate to programs are kept in the `word` folder. You will ( from my experience ) have to run the setup again.

Thanks for the answer but I no longer have the original disks or CD for Word. I backed it up because I had to format my machine.  When I restored it the spell check was not there.
Thanks again

Start going to yard sales or computers shops and look for the original program disks, they shouldn't cost very much to buy and if you talk nice someone may even let you borrow their copy since there is really not much call for Win3.1 software

Sorry I wasn't much help but I really didn't get back into computers until right after Win95 came out and everything I know is more or less from that point on and I really haven't messed with Win3.1 much, I did have a laptop with it but I didn't like it much, I sold it since I could no longer get memory for it and it needed more memory to install Win95?

I agree with rayt about the yard sales or wherever.....

But to restore the program fully you will have to run the setup again as you have lost the original windows registry which links to the spell check.

you need those disks!!
