Need to shutdown all open browser windows to configure.

What is the command to shutdown all open browser windows? I need to edit certain settings that require the browser to be closed.
I could just call a TerminateProcess on all IEXPLORE.EXE's but that doesn't seem like the 'nice' way to go about it. Is there a way I could tell the process iexplore.exe to quit?
