Sound cards.....hardware from H*LL.

I've got to change my question because
I've got sound....just reinstalled
the card and it worked...well almost.
I have beautiful sound....but
when I use a mic with the card...
all I get is a hum. Yes, the plug is in the right jack.
What's up? Is it the mic?

Please answer ASAP.

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

check the volume control panel, the mic input may be muted or turned down.

Will give the points to bekaye....
Well it wasn't the mute....thanks...
it WAS THE QUALITY OF THE MIC!
Bought a more expensive mic
(50 bucks) and the sound recording
is great.
Beware folks of low-priced electronics.
You get what you pay for.
