Install DAO

I install the Office Proffessional 8.0 (not 2000) in a computer and when open a database in the references I don't see the DAO component. I try to unistall the  office and reinstall, and the same.

Anybody have any idea about to install this component alone?

TIA

When you are in references, you should be able to scroll down to the Microsoft section and see a listing for Microsoft DAO 3.5X Object Library.

If you don't see one, you can browse for the DLL.  It is stored by MS in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO.  There may be several ones there.  I believe that you want DAO 350.DLL

Jim
Maybe you should to register the library in Windows registry manually by using
RegSvr32.exe drv:\path\DAO350.DLL
Dedushka:  I wasn't aware that registering the program manually will put the reference in Access.

To Dedushka, I think its a great idea, I do it, and I tell you something!!

Thanks to JimMorgan too.

Bye.
I try that you say Dedushka and it was a little different, I must copy the DAO (all the files of the CD-ROM Office 97) into c:\windows\system and then register the DAO350.dll

Thanks.
To JimMorgan, I register the DAO350 by regsvr32 drv:path\dao350.dll and then appears into the references of Access.
Hi guillems.
I'm glad that can help you.
Thank you for accepting my comment as answer.
Have a nice day,
Dedushka
I still don't understand how the DAO was never registered in the first place.
I install many times the Office in computers and never see this before.

So the question is why?

Because I'd try to uninstall the access, and reinstall (NO WORK)

I'd try to unistall office and reinstall Office (NO WORK)

I'd try to unistall Office and install access run time (NO WORK)

The only thing that don't do, is to reinstall WINDOWS (Glups!!)

Thanks for you time, Jim

  Merry  Christmas.!!
There is a utility from Microsoft which will completely uninstall office.  The uninstall from Windows does not really remove everything.

Jim
Which is this utility?

How to get this utility?

By the way, thanks for your time.
