you can't. it is not supported. the best you could do is connect to the second computer through it's IP address but this would mean that both computers would have to have an active internet connection. if you have this and you want to know how to connect to another machine via IP address let me know and I'll tell you how.

yes, we both do have active internet conections...but, we don't have static ip addresses...we're assigned addresses from the ISP every time we go online...so that would mean everytime i play UT with my friend, my freind and i would have to go to DialUpNetworking and have a look at the TCP/IP settings and find the ip address...is this right?
and once we have our ip addresses, i'll follow what u'll be telling me about connecting machines via ip addresses :-)
Thanks.

yes you are right you will need to find out your ip address. you can sdo this once you are logged on by going to:
startbutton>run

and then type in:
winipcfg

this will bring up a dialog box with a drop down menu, click on the drop down menu and choose ppp adapter, after it is selected you will see your current internet address in the ip address box(click ok to exit the dialog box).

know you know the ip address to use, you can tell your friend to connect to this or you get his address and connect to him.

In order to connect to him start unreal tournament and when you see the intro movie press esc, then choose:
multiplayer>open location
then type in the ip address you are trying to connect to.
this should work fine, let me know how it turns out before/if you accept my answer.
btw, the game will most likely be very laggy(choppy play and maybe lost connections) if you both only have modems and not a high speed internet connection(e.g. cable modem, ISDN, xDSL)

expect pings to be around 200-400 for regular modem play.
