net connection fail

Hi,
My nslookup is ok but I couldn't telnet and ftp to any site.
I got the error message that showed me "www.mitec.net" unknown host.
Why?

Could you ping the IP address ?? If not, you'll need to check to
see if your network is up. Try a traceroute to see where it ends and try to debug from there.

ping ip address is ok, but I couldn't ping www.yahoo.com
Can you telnet or ftp to any other systems on your network? And are you sure you want to telnet to ftp to the address www.mitec.net? This is an http address, so you can't just telnet or ftp to it.
I just visited the mitec.net site and they do have an ftp server. If you type 'ftp ftp.mitec.net' at the prompt, you can login anonomously to their site. If you want to use your web browser, type 'ftp://ftp.mitec.net' in the location field for netscape communicator or the address field for internet explorer. Hope this helps.
