My nslookup is ok but I couldn't telnet and ftp to any site.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Could you ping the IP address ?? If not, you'll need to check to
see if your network is up. Try a traceroute to see where it ends and try to debug from there.

Can you telnet or ftp to any other systems on your network? And are you sure you want to telnet to ftp to the address This is an http address, so you can't just telnet or ftp to it.
JavaScript Best Practices

Save hours in development time and avoid common mistakes by learning the best practices to use for JavaScript.

I just visited the site and they do have an ftp server. If you type 'ftp' at the prompt, you can login anonomously to their site. If you want to use your web browser, type '' in the location field for netscape communicator or the address field for internet explorer. Hope this helps.

NS lookup is working fine, but I couldn't connect to any site.
did u set up your dnsentry.rev file correctly to give reverse dns resolution?

you may have to edit your /etc/nsswich.conf or /etc/svc.conf or something like that (depending of your Unix) to allow resolving name query with DNS.

# grep host /etc/svc.conf
