win95 re-install - fat32 conflict?

My DX4-100 came loaded with win95 4.00.950 C, which was set up to run fat16. I upgraded the system to fat32, but now want to reformat my hard drive, and re-install win95.

Is this possible, and will I have to upgrade again to fat32?

My 512Mb hard drive has been compressed using win95.

Also, is it possible to re-intall win95 without reformatting the hard drive?

Thanks in advance.

For formating you can use this:

To resolve this issue, format the volume using the following steps:

1. Click the Start button, click Shut Down, click Restart The Computer In MS-DOS   Mode, and then click Yes.

2. Type the following command and then press ENTER  " format <drive>: " (without the quotation marks)  where <drive> is the drive letter for the partition you want to format.

3. When the partition is formatted, type "exit" (without the quotation marks) to restart Windows 95.

Thanks, my 512Mb drive is compressed, does that make any difference?
Do I have to un-compress it first?
