how to "marry" NT 4 and win 2000?

i'm looking at fingerprint systems for a project, which is using Win 2000.
however, the fingerprint systems on the market only provide SDK that supports NT 4. Can any expert pls advise how i can "marry" the 2 OS such i can integrate and use the NT 4 SDK in my Win 2000 project.

Most software that runs under NT4 (i.e. it was developed using the NT4 SDK) will run under Win2000.  If you are running running MS Visual C++ as your development environment, you don't even need to upgrade it.  VC++ 6.0 with it's Service Pack 3 runs just find on Win2000.

If all else fails, develop on NT4 and test on W2K until you vendor ships a W2K SDK for this product.  If they can't or won't give you a ship date, I'd consider alternate suppliers.
