Mounting Windows in Linux

How can I make it so that I can make Linux see windows?  I have RH 6.0

mkdir harddisk
mount /dev/hda1 /harddisk
This should work

I tried this but got a message that my NTFS file system isn't supported by my kernel. I'm using Fedora Core 3 with all updates.
