linux & start up problems

I have installed linux mandrake (repackaged redhat 6) on a system with win NT, I am trying to boot off a floppy made during installation, it says Loading.....
produces a page of text then hangs

What can I do ??

u need a new floppy created and then try
u did not mention whether u were installing from cd or HDD.
anyway this should work
choose a text based install to avoid further probs

Am installing from CD, have created a new floppy disk and it still fails, have tried several times, have also tried putting lilo on linux boot partition, and that has the same effect.
any ideas please ?

hey why dont u boot off the cd (change your CMOS SETTINGS if possible [boot sequence:CD-ROM,A:,C:,) and install the LILO on the linux partition itself.

Its possible that the floppy disk was wrong. Can you try to make another one.
Another posibility is reboot with instalation disk and specify that you wont to make it with linux device.
If I remember well it is something like:
 boot root=/dev/hd* (partition of your linux)
it is explained in the instalation processes....
