I think I am missing Microsoft Peer Web Server? Where can I get Microsoft Peer Web Server for Windows 2000?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Information in this topic refers to IIS version 5.0; for information on later versions of IIS, check the documentation that accompanies the installation program.

Internet Information Services 5.0 is not installed on Windows 2000 Professional by default. You can install IIS or select additional components by using the Add/Remove Programs application in Control Panel.

To install Internet Information Services

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel and start the Add/Remove Programs application.

Select Add/Remove Windows Components and then follow the on-screen instructions to install, remove, or add components to IIS.
Note

If you upgraded to Windows 2000, IIS 5.0 will be installed by default only if PWS was installed on your previous version of Windows.

You will need the Windows 2000 Professional CD.

Visual Basic still says I need IIS and Microsoft Peer Web Server?

but did you get iis installed?  Does your computer properly serve web pages?

it is possible that Microsoft has to release a patch for visual basic to recognize iis5.
